How to design a custom night vision device using a transparent screen?

 
I am an airsoft enthusiast who plays mostly at night and I want to create my own night vision device using a camera and a transparent screen. I want to mount the screen inside my airsoft goggles (Valken Tango) and display the camera feed on it. However, I am not sure if a LCD screen would be bright enough to see the screen clearly in the dark. I am looking for a screen type that is transparent, bright, and affordable. The screen resolution should be at least 1080P to match the camera resolution. Can you suggest any screen type that would suit my needs or tell me if my idea is feasible or not?
